Welcome

Hello and a warm welcome to The Earth School, a boutique international Montessori school, nestled in the heart of Kigali, Rwanda. My name is Lauren Rogers, and I have worked here since August 2015 and became the Head of School in August 2020.

Here at The Earth School, we pride ourselves on providing an environment that acknowledges each student’s academic, social, emotional and physical needs and seamlessly integrates them into the learning process.

Our learning environments are specially designed with children at the core and combined with our international Montessori curriculum, allows them to fulfil their potential and explore their own interests.

We form strong relationships with our families, holding regular meetings and events so that everyone is a part of The Earth School community.

About Us

Welcome to The Earth School, the International Montessori School of Rwanda. We welcome children and families from all ethnic, racial, religious, and national backgrounds and diverse family structures.

The Earth School provides an innovative, experiential, and transformative education. We guide our young learners through self-discovery and growth and identify their strengths and interests. Our programme is small enough to guarantee individualised attention yet big enough to provide a world-class education.

Curricula

Early Years

The Earth School’s Early Years programme follows the Montessori method, designed to nurture curiosity, independence, and a love of learning. Children learn through hands-on exploration in a prepared environment that balances freedom with gentle guidance.

The Primary School programme builds on Montessori foundations, emphasising critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. Small classes (maximum 12 students per group) allow teachers to personalise learning and give children the space to grow at their own pace.
