Classes are being held online until January 29th, 2021
Following instructions from the Government of Rwanda, The Earth School as well as all other schools in Kigali will not conduct in-person classes until January 29th, 2021, when measures will be revisited. We have switched to online learning per our contingency plan for the duration of this preventative measure. Our teachers are using SeeSaw, an online learning platform to support students at home. We have synchronous Circle Times twice per day so children can continue to interact with their teachers and friends.

To implement safety measures based on international standards, our intake for the 2021-2022 school year has been reduced to maintain small groups. Families interested in enrollment are welcome to contact admissions@theearthschoolafrica.com.

A WORLD-CLASS GREEN SCHOOL IN THE HEART OF AFRICA
Child-Centered Education
Welcome to The Earth School, the International Montessori School of Rwanda!
We love children, and firmly believe that their education and holistic development as confident, creative, curious, and motivated individuals is the most important thing we can do for them. Our commitment is to provide a creative, experiential, and transformative education, guiding our young learners through a journey of self-discovery, growth, and identification of their strengths and interests.
We provide an environment that acknowledges each student's academic and social, as well as emotional and physical needs, and seamlessly integrates them into the learning process. This environment allows students to feel confident and guides them towards a deeper understanding of their purpose in life.

With groups of twelve students each, our program is small enough to guarantee truly individualized attention, yet big enough to provide world-class education. The Earth School is an accredited member of the International Schools Association (ISA). Based in Geneva, Switzerland, ISA is the most senior organization in the world of international education and the first educational non-governmental organization to be granted consultative status at UNESCO.
Our Core Values
What We Stand For

1. Follow the Child
We trust each child’s ability to develop to his/her full potential. The whole of the school community and physical environment is set up to promote a child-centered approach that facilitates the child’s own development process.
2. Whole Child Development
We equally value all aspects of the child’s development, including their intellectual, social, emotional, and physical needs.
3. Character Building
We believe childhood is the best time in life to develop strength of character, passion for life, and compassion for ourselves and for others, as well as a love of learning.
4. One Earth Community
We encourage the development of a sense of interconnectedness, belonging, respect, and responsibility by the individual towards the whole of life on Earth.
5. A Sense of Wonder and Appreciation in a World of Possibilities
We value, protect and nurture the child’s innate sense of curiosity, discovery, wonder, and appreciation for the world so that they remain lifelong learners.
6. Awareness and Mindfulness
We are aware that children learn by example and of the role that adults play as models of the values and behaviors that children develop. We strive to act mindfully at all time.
